2fish bio

Kevin and Kevin, the two founders of 2fish started toying with the idea of a band in the fall of 1995.After a full year of various names and various lineups, the band now known as 2fish was spawned in the fall of 1996.

Kevin Rogers and Kevin Saunders (two preacher’s kids turned preachers / musicians) are the founders and backbone of 2fish. They write the music, the lyrics, produce the songs, and usually book most of the gigs. The traveling band will consist of a two to six piece unit: Kevin Rogers - lead vocals, rhythm guitar, Kevin Saunders – lead vocals, guitars, sax, harmonica, percussion, drums etc., are the mainstays.  Depending on the type of event and/or venue a bass guitarist, lead guitarist, drummer, and maybe even a keyboard/organist will be added to fill out the sound.

The sound and style 2fish presents is two fold. The band offers sets of alternative worship music, or concert format depending on the venue request, and can fill a large venue with a full band, or a smaller venue with a more unplugged type band. No matter what the format, the sound is the same with a groove reminiscent of The Wallflowers, Dave Matthews Band, or some of your favourite soulful artists from the Motown.  "Funk 'n' Soul" is the phrase that best describes the 2fish style, and the unit gels together and plays just as tight as an old rusty coffin nail. Singing songs about real life issues like addictions, homelessness, security, loneliness, and the need we all have for a strong relationship with God, 2fish is not scared to take a stand for their beliefs whether playing for a secular audience or for a Sunday service.

After more than 15 years on the music scene, 2fish has played with such notables as The Afters, Thousand Foot Krutch, Glenn Kaiser, Caedmon's Call, and Audio Adrenaline. Some of their more memorable gigs include: Urban Cry Conference with Tony Campolo & Caedmons Call, SYATP Raly at Toronto's Roger's Centre, The Children's Miracle Network Telethon Canada, Live jam and interview on CHWI TV, live performance at Windsor's Devonshire Mall, Twice opening act and backup band for Glenn Kaiser, headlined at the Windsor Gospel Fest, part of the Windsor/Detroit Blues Fest, Summer 98, 4 consecutive summers played for a week long HMI pro hockey camp for teenagers, which included working with NHL stars John Vanbiesbrouck, Mark Osborne,  and Adam Burt and more.

2fish released their second project “Live Bait”, a live alternative worship recording, in August 2002.  The CD was recorded live at New Song Church in Windsor, Ontario, where Kevin Rogers currently pastors.  The CD is still selling very well and is receiving great reviews.

2fish released their first studio project on June 4th 1999. This project, titled "Little Boy's Lunch", was an alternative worship project that stretched the boundaries of contemporary worship music in Canada and beyond. To date "Little Boys Lunch" has moved more than 1500 units in 7 different countries combined.

2fish can also be heard on the 4 different music compilation CD's, most of which are now out of production with the exception of the "Unit of Hope" CD which contains 2 previously unreleased tracks and is available in our Merchandise section.

Summer of 2010 2fish recorded and released their 1st ever concept video for the original song Palm of Your Hand.  Recorded live on Drouillard Rd. in Windsor by the Goad Media group the video can be found on Youtube, or check it out in our Tunes section.
